From one end of the spectrum to another, but many would say that the security guards working on-site every day are actually much more important than any other position within a security firm.

Without security guards, the whole operation comes tumbling down These professionals patrol, they search, they manage access control technology, the utilise CCTV, they do the lot.

Security guards protect people and are highly trained in everything from CCTV operation to crowd management and conflict resolution.

If an alarm goes of on a clients site and no security guards are currently there, a keyholders job is to investigate. As well as emergency response, keyholders are also required to do more mundane tasks such as opening or closing commercial facilities.

This may not sound like the most dangerous job in the world, but these professionals are responsible for ensuring that a workplace is safe for its staff and its assets are protected before vacating the scene. That’s a pretty big responsibility.
